Artist Statement

My work combines acrylic painting and collage to explore the way images overlap and shift meaning. By layering torn paper, found imagery, and original painting, I create compositions where the boundaries between past and present, photograph and painting, torn page and painted canvas, and historical and contemporary imagery begin to blur.
I am interested in how layering transforms familiar images into something both inviting and unexpected, encouraging viewers to question where each individual image comes from while also stepping back to experience the composition as a whole.
