Artist Statement

I am an artist practicing in oils, acrylic, pastel and watercolor pencils. I'm usually drawn to warm, vivid colors and drawn to simple subjects found in nature and everyday life. My work celebrates the beauty and character found in food, animals, landscapes, and familiar everyday objects. By using a loose, painterly approach that balances recognizable subjects and expressive brushstrokes I try to create joyful art work.
I would love for my work to encourage viewers to slow down, look closely, and find beauty in their everyday lives.
