Artist Statement
My artistic practice explores the relationship between emotion, memory, and the human condition through visual forms. I primarily work with drawing and mixed media, using simple materials such as pen, marker, canvas, and sketchbook to capture raw, unfiltered expressions. I am particularly drawn to the subtle details of facial expressions—wrinkles, tension, and gaze—as a way to communicate internal emotional states that are often difficult to articulate with words.
My influences come from everyday observations, personal experiences, and an interest in psychological depth. I am inspired by how small emotional shifts can shape one’s identity and perception of the world. In addition, I am influenced by contemporary and experimental artists who emphasize process, imperfection, and honesty in their work.
The central themes in my work revolve around emotional vulnerability, introspection, and the passage of time. I often focus on how emotions leave traces on the body, especially the face, as a visual record of lived experience. Through my work, I aim to create a space where viewers can reflect on their own emotions and feel a sense of connection, even in silence.
Ultimately, my practice is not only about creating visual outcomes, but also about understanding myself and others more deeply through the act of making.
