Evada Davenport

Artist Statement

Evada Davenport ( b. 2000) is a Michigan-based artist with graphic design erudition. From this, she incorporates elements of graphic design with her photography, writings, collages, and more recently, paintings.

Davenport's practice moves between drawing, photography, collage, and painting and is informed by her background in graphic design. Rooted in observation and a sensitivity to composition, light, and atmosphere, she creates contemplative images that invite sustained looking. Her work often depicts living subjects and environments in quiet, ambiguous moments that resist fixed narratives. Rather than seeking spectacle or explanation, Davenport encourages viewers to dwell within the feeling of a moment and attend to the subtle emotional and atmospheric qualities that emerge through observation.
