Artist Statement

My work is concerned with memory as an inheritance — something received, incomplete, and in need of care. Across different bodies of work, I return to a central question: what do we owe the people who came before us, and how do we carry their stories forward when their original context has been lost? With a particular focus on immigration and migration, my work resists spectacle in favor of attention. I'm drawn to modest scale and quiet gesture — a face, a name, a fragment — because I believe memory itself is often small and private before it becomes shared or historical.
