Artist Statement

I'm interested in photography as storytelling and as a medium to capture details that may be missed at first glance. Many of my images are floral, or candid portraits, or fleeting scenes. I like to bring out the details of a flower that show its beauty differently, or from a different perspective, or a person's determination that may go unnoticed at first. When I create an image of a place, an object, or a person, I'm striving to capture some unique aspect of the subject. And tell the story of its truth as I see it and as it exists in that moment. I try to compose creatively, paying attention to colors and the luminance and vibrance of colors, perhaps in different ways than what is expected.
