Artist Statement

My work explores the disconnect between our urban society and the natural world. At times I perceive that relationship as negative, and other times I see it as positive. To articulate this, I have frequently paired traditional compositions with unorthodox materials. The compositions I create focus on recreating how these locations feel - the materials I use relate back either to the space itself, or our interaction with it.
