Artist Statement

I am a contemporary realist working across a range of mediums, with a current focus on watercolor. I am drawn to the immediacy of the medium and its fluid, responsive nature, which allows for both close observation and intuitive interpretation. My work centers on floral and botanical subjects as well as plein-air landscapes from my travels, all grounded in careful study from life.

This summer, I will be creating a new body of work during an upcoming artist residency at Chalk Hill, focusing on botanicals in Northern California, with the hope of sharing this work at Kings Mountain Art Fair.
