Jazmine Taylor

Artist Statement

Proudly describing herself as an introverted extrovert, Jazmine Taylor is a mixed media
artist who has called Alexandria, Virginia home since moving from Naples, Italy. Navigating her
interest in art throughout college, Jazmine found an appreciation for the ability to communicate
through color that grew to the use of a variety of mediums. Over the past two years, she has
intentionally embraced travel as a way to satisfy her curiosity, seek new experiences, and
deepen her understanding of the world. Each journey has shaped not only her perspective, but
also the stories she chooses to tell through her art.
Alongside her work in nonprofit mental health, she creates pieces that give a unique visual
perspective to emotions that are harder to express with words. Her work invites viewers to
pause, reflect, and discover the quiet beauty that can so easily be overlooked in everyday life.
