Artist Statement

My watercolor paintings are inspired by the quiet beauty of the natural world. I am drawn to the subtle interplay of light, atmosphere and form found in coastal landscapes, weathered rocks, windswept trees, moving water, and open skies. Through watercolor, gouache and mark making materials I seek to capture not only what I see, but also the sense of stillness, wonder, and connection that nature evokes.
The transparent nature of watercolor allows me to respond intuitively to each subject, balancing careful observation with the spontaneity of flowing pigment and water. Layers of color and light create a visual record of both place and experience, inviting viewers to pause and engage with moments that are often overlooked.
