Artist Statement

Leilani Joy Purvis is an International Fiber Artist, award winning Art Quilter and instructor, who began her journey as a traditional quilter before expanding into textile art to explore greater creative freedom. She works with various fabrics, embellishments, and surface designs, incorporating techniques such as thread painting, painting with inks, fabric dyeing, and using organic and recycled materials. Her work focuses on animal textile art, landscapes, and abstract designs, often finished with intricate stitching and thread work. Passionate about experimentation, Leilani aims to inspire others to explore fiber art, demonstrating that it is an accessible and versatile medium for anyone to enjoy.
