Artist Statement – Craiger Lee
My work is rooted in a deep reverence for nature and the spiritual connection it awakens within me. Inspired by the legacy of my late father, Lee—a fine artist who dedicated over 30 years to painting forests and wild places—I carry forward the brush he placed in my hands and the vision he instilled in me. Each painting is both a tribute to him and a reflection of my own journey of faith, guided by God through the beauty of creation.
I paint in a style of fine realism, seeking to capture not only the physical detail of waterfalls, mountains, and coastlines of the Pacific Northwest and beyond, but also the quiet power and presence they hold. For me, art is a conversation between light and shadow, silence and movement, earth and spirit. When I stand before a canvas, I feel a dialogue between myself, my father’s memory, and the Creator who shaped the landscapes I portray.
My goal is to invite viewers into these sacred spaces of nature—to pause, reflect, and feel both the grandeur and intimacy of the world around us. Each piece is an offering: a window to beauty, a moment of stillness, and a reminder of the divine woven into every mountain, forest, and stream.
