Mary Del Priore
Artist Statement
Mary Del Priore is a Connecticut-based oil and watercolor artist. Her work is inspired by the coastal landscapes of Connecticut, New Jersey, and Long Island, as well as the atmosphere and life within them.
Her paintings are defined by a bold, expressive use of color, and a nuanced sensitivity to light and shadow. In watercolor, she employs delicate, translucent washes, often punctuated by bold, graphic figures that bring a sense of scale and human presence to her compositions, while her oil paintings introduce richness and layered texture to the coastal scenes she depicts.
Mary began painting at a young age and pursued formal training at Fairfield University. She furthered her studies at the Lorenzo de' Medici Institute in Florence, Italy, and continued her artistic development through years of study at the School of Visual Arts and the Arts Students League in New York City. Her work is held in private collections and has been featured in charitable auctions.
