Artist Statement

I am a sculptor driven by the enduring power of form, narrative, and emotion. My work is rooted in a lifelong journey of exploration—one that began with childhood drawing classes and evolved into a deep fascination with sculptural expression. Working primarily in bronze and incorporating fine woodworking, I seek to honor the human experience and elemental beauty of nature through timeless, tangible creations.
My artistic evolution has been profoundly shaped by both mentorship and formal study. A pivotal engagement with Tallman Miller sparked my passion for mold-making and casting, while attending Terry Lee’s classical figure sculpture classes in 2019 deepened my appreciation for anatomical precision and emotional resonance. Influences from masters such as Cheryl Metcalf, Philippe and Charisse Faraut, Barrington Barber, and Michael Hampton continue to inform my technique and philosophical approach to sculpting.

Collaborating with my husband in our studio-gallery, I create figurative sculptures reflecting a story, a mood, or a shared memory. Whether through lifelike public statues or small commission ceramic pieces, my goal is always the same: to produce art that evokes connection, contemplation, and a sense of permanence.

Working from my intimate home studio amid North Idaho’s serene landscape, I am continually inspired by the region’s natural light, textures, and rhythms. My intention is to craft pieces that not only hold their own beauty, but also resonate deeply while inviting viewers to pause, remember, and feel. With each new creation, I aim to bridge the gap between the universal and the personal, capturing an essence that endures for generations.
