David Tucker II
Artist Statement
My photography embodies singular moments, glimpses of beauty in America, each catching my attention, my imagination and, in turn, my camera's focus.
These span a wide variety of subjects, including a beloved retired ceramics teacher at a local high school in the Sacramento area, a grazing bison at Yellowstone National Park, Native American drummers participating in a "No Kings" protest and a portrait of a long-time friend in Seattle.
These disparate images are photographed with the unifying intention to illuminate and explore the beauty and intrigue of the people and places around us.
