Artist Statement

Carmen aims to capture the intersections between reality as she sees it, in conversation with the visual noise borne of a world that has forgotten the art of pausing to see and to understand. She subtly distorts landscapes surrounding her subjects and incorporates abstracted elements to echo the fantasies of modernity in contrast with the infallible value of faith, love, and lightness of being.
