Artist Statement

I paint cubic figuration in acrylic, blending heritage, sustainability and cubic abstraction. The cubes and disciplined lines are shaped by my background in Civil Engineering and softness of repurposed textiles reflects warm memories of bonding with my mother as she passed down our family skills.
The transition from robust geometric form to tactile fabric serves as a metaphor in my works.
My paintings layers vibrant ancient motifs, hand-hemming technique, folds, rescued handloom silks and other bespoke elements as I traverse my ancient textile tradition.
