Artist Statement

My work explores making the invisible, tangible. I am drawn to creating experiences where participants of the art are able to actively explore and engage with it, learning more about the inner workings of the piece as they do. Using materials and processes inspired by engineering, physics, and design, I create sculptural systems that highlight nuanced properties, forces, and energies that surround us in nature and our day-to-day lives.

I create work with multilayered inspirations, poetically integrating technical elements to explore subjects spanning ecology, cultural anthropology, spirituality, and beyond. People experiencing my work are invited to ask themselves about how the layers of inspiration coalesce through my work. One of my goals is for participants to walk away knowing more about various facets of the world around them. I hope that all of these elements seamlessly blend for unique and memorable encounters.
