Artist Statement
For most of my life, I've struggled between artist and musician identities and a life that requires a day-job and the demands of motherhood. Painting is about being in a space that's just me, where something emerges that I can leave behind. I like to make paintings that draw the viewer in, to someplace beautiful with a little bit of magic perhaps. I love oils and am really becoming obsessed with all there is to learn. At 45, I still feel like I'm just starting out. I hope to live a long life and be considered a master by my 80s or 90s.
