Artist Statement

I was born with a creative spirit; photography has always made sense to me. When I was 4 years old I asked for, and received, a Kodak Brownie camera for Christmas. My mother recalls that I took pictures of everything, including pavement crack patterns. I graduated from college with a minor in art/photography. I loved the process of developing black and white film, then printing enlargements in the school darkroom. The first time I saw an image come through in the developer tray I was hooked! I have since taken some classes through MCAD and took a week long course in street photography. After retiring I had time to try new things, so I enrolled in a community education class on watercolor technique, not knowing if I would like it (I did). I feel I’m an evolving watercolor artist. Currently I am enrolled in intermediate watercolor classes at my local art center.
