Artist Statement

I have painted off and on for most of my life. Because of COVID restrictions I began to take virtual lessons, mostly to be able to paint cats, since I breed Bengals. I prefer to work in oil. The class meets on Thursday morning and it's an important time for me. As my teacher says, "if you can paint, you can paint anything." I'm getting there.

I'm a semi-retired licensed psychologist, widowed, have 5 adult children and 7 grandchildren. One of my sons, Richard Smith, is a graduate of RISD, and a professional artist. Life's good.
