Artist Statement

As a portrait sculptor, my art is directed by the search for truth and accuracy wherein I try to objectively see what is before me. As I sculpt and achieve accuracy in rendering the clay, my continuing search for truth enables me to identify with, and at a certain level, "become the subject I am sculpting". My work is successful if the viewer and I agree that who I have sculpted is indeed that person.
