Artist Statement

I am an introspective and multidisciplinary artist who finds expression through painting, crochet, dance, writing, music, and poetry. My art is a way for me to connect with my emotions. I feel my art leads me on a journey of self-discovery. It is also how I connect with nature, as I very often have nature imagery and animals in my works. I enjoy that art allows me to meet a variety of people and allows me to tell stories. For my paintings, I enjoy acrylic, but recently I have been focusing on watercolor and ink. I believe at this time watercolor and ink gives me control through the ink and spontaneity via the watercolor. I draw inspiration from books, artist events and presentations, and nature.
