Artist Statement

I started drawing and painting hoping to find peace and ways that lead me back to the present, to my heart. I used to like photography and documented many adventures around my home and abroad. But I was frequently frustrated with the limitations of a camera and the distractions in a life environment. The first time I picked up a brush, I was totally absorbed in experiencing what was essential in that moment and memory. From there, I discovered a sense of freedom unmatched by anything that I have experienced before. I’m drawn to the power of those moments that take my breath away - the moments from observing all forms of life, tranquility, dramatic weather, and awe-inspiring landscapes. Many of my pieces meant to capture these powerful moments that help us recharge, restore faith, and heal.
