Artist Statement: Decoy in the Blue
The rawest form of artistic ambition belongs to the student. Unburdened by industry rules and fueled entirely by pure creative instinct, early work holds a unique power and a passionate, unfiltered drive to transform abstract concepts into striking visual realities. Decoy in the Blue stands as the definitive first collection of my digital work, captured during a pivotal moment of artistic awakening in the Fall of 2017.

This series rejects the modern cliché of "fake it until you make it." There is no pretense or imitation here. Instead, it is a testament to the significant, tangible success that comes when instinct and absolute creative dedication collide. Created during a period of fierce artistic experimentation, proving their merit entirely on their own terms without needing traditional art galleries and prominent art events.

Conceptually, the collection explores the delicate friction between captivation and capture, illusion and reality. Through curated pieces like Paradise Locked, Run, Don’t Look Back, and Perfect Illusion, the imagery plays with themes of temptation, physical boundaries, and the sudden urge to break free from beautiful traps. Decoy in the Blue is more than a retrospective of early digital photography; it is a permanent anchor point documenting a time of limitless creative conviction, proving that true artistic passion requires no rehearsal to make an indelible mark.
