Artist Statement

ARTIST STATEMENT
“ If I could say in words , there would be no reason to paint . “ by Edward Hopper .
. I feel the principal of my art is not to portray but evoke .
It is the fire in the soul lurking behind and beneath the clinical coolness that is so cathartic to me .

I have also recently painted on canvas a series of extremely minimalist figures . They are painted in white line mimicking white chalk on a dark grey slate board . These seemly understated figures evoke deep emotion and gain power since they are paired down to the essence of the gesture.
