Artist Statement

Because of my background and education, I look for a more graphic presentation in the composition of my photographic art work. I believe an image will tell me what it needs to be. I am especially drawn to the drama that Black and White can convey but I do love strong color when it makes a statement. In a way, I find these opposites to be similar when they create drama or tension. I enjoy architectural photography and taking something iconic and finding a new or different way to look at it. That is a challenge that I never tire of. I love portraiture that seems impromptu or tells a story. These are the areas I am most drawn to.
