“Art is a step from what is obvious and well-known toward what is arcane and concealed.” Kahlil Gibran
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” Nikola Tesla
Everything we 'know' is energy, but we only see what we need to see. Humans have evolved a familiar and agreed upon reality. Things at the human level of acceptable perception need to be unchanging and stable. We are rarely cognizant of the tiny things unless they bite us, and we are seemingly indifferent to the immeasurable depth and distances of an enigmatic universe. It is a mathematical soup of interacting visible and invisible energetic elemental chemical molecules all kept together by the same forces that are pulling it apart and rearranging it beyond imagination through chaos to its entropic doom.
My images attempt to represent these largely unseen interactions of the dynamic forces, energy patterns, dimensional structures, and the layering and melding of time.
I symbolize these concepts through the pure design elements of lines, spirals, circles, arcs, dots, and spaces. These basic thematic elements are my 'alphabet' and may be seen across my body of works. Background randomness and color, each subjective, are important only in how they affect the extemporaneous gestures leading from one design element to another and the entire aspect of an image. Though my pieces are predominantly non-representational, there may be some intentionally implied elements that may be interpreted by the viewer's human need to see things they know and recognize.
