Artist Statement

I am an American Impressionist artist whose landscape and figurative paintings are inspired by the quiet beauty of everyday life.

Working primarily in oils and pastel, I paint in the studio using reference photographs and videos I capture during my travels and everyday outings. Each painting begins with a simple sketch, allowing me to refine the composition by editing and simplifying the scene to emphasize what matters most.

Vibrant color, expressive brushwork, softened edges, and the interplay of light and shadow are central to my creative process. When figures appear in my paintings, they are not the focus but quiet presences that deepen the narrative. While allowing the landscape to remain the protagonist this invites the viewer to imagine their own stories within the scene, I encourage the viewer to pause, look a little closer, and discover the extraordinary beauty that exists within the familiar.
