Joanie Crombie - Watercolorist & Urban Sketcher

I thrive on capturing the world around me with vibrant watercolors and inks. My work draws inspiration from cityscapes, woodland creatures, and the peaceful beauty of coastal towns. Based in the Bay Area, I find endless inspiration in the places I call home, as well as from my travels. Whether sketching a bustling urban street or a quiet natural scene, I am always on the lookout for the quirky details that make everyday moments unique.

Through urban sketching, I try to infuse each scene with energy and freshness. My goal is not to reproduce what I see, but to evoke the beauty, charm, and sense of fun that exists in even the most ordinary of places. I strive to create work that invites viewers to pause, notice, and appreciate the hidden details that surround us.
