Artist Statement

I try to capture and visually create beautiful moments and images, which one might not otherwise notice. I try to make people see, be aware of and commune with nature. Remind people that we are part of something bigger than ourselves as individuals. By looking at it this way, we realize the natural world we live in is made of many small things. If we step back and look at the big picture, it makes the whole of existence seem larger. Sometimes it’s engaging to look at the image with the goal of transforming into something completely different than what it appears to be. The final print image is not at all connected to the original image other than its color. I feel like I am painting images, employing photography as a point of departure for devising my own fictional realms.
