Artist Statement

Painting abstractly, I can compose using color and space in ways that my previous attachment to figuration wouldn't permit. Though the paintings are often inspired by landscape and religious experience, they exist like a piece of music - evocative rather than specific. The titles compensate for the lack of narrative.
