Paula Tremba

Artist Statement

I was born in Van Nuys, California in 1955, and moved to Shepherdstown, West Virginia in 1976, where I currently reside. Towards the end of my twenty-four year teaching career, I became serious about photography. I am mostly self-taught, and have refined my techniques through mentorship and lots of practice. Having explored and practiced many genres I am currently embracing infrared black and white, and abstract realism and expressionism photography.

Photography pushes me to experiment, explore, and always ask, ‘I wonder what would happen if.’ In my art, I strive to convey the fleeting moments of emotion and mystery, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a world of curiosity and tranquility.
