Artist Statement
Once a scientist; now an artist. Ceramic sculptor, to be quite exact. Art is so expressive; prefer that. The Covid pandemic; when will it end? Severe drought first, then excessive rain. Drought and famine around the world. Record breaking natural and human-made disasters. All make us feel loss of control. Our world is out of whack!
Even our homes can’t offer grounding. Many people have lost their homes.... from financial downturns or warming effects. Polar ice caps are melting away. Causing havoc with the weather worldwide.
My artwork goal: draw viewers in. To ponder the topic I offer. In order to reach their conclusions. If they ask the artwork’s meaning... I flip the question back to them. I enjoy hearing their various explanations. Mostly they are new to me. I love learning from the viewers!
