“Independence 250-US Veterans Art Show”
An Art Show Celebrating United States Military Veterans
July 25 – August 31, 2026

Arts for Vets invites all US Veteran artists of all military backgrounds to submit works for “Independence 250-US Veterans Art Show”
This is a juried exhibition celebrating the power, resilience, and voice of veterans who have served, protected and helped build the United States of America.

Inspired by the spirit of our country’s birth and the ongoing pursuit of independence, freedom and democracy this show explores what freedom in creativity, equality in expression, and representation of diverse veteran creativity mean through the eyes of veterans today. We invite artists to reflect on themes of identity, autonomy, family history, creative expression and personal pursuits of freedom and happiness from personal stories of who have served in the military. Ask yourself, "How do you I use the arts and creative expression living in freedom in my everyday life?" "How do I express myself creatively as an independent artist?" "How do I express myself after military service?" Artists are welcome to share and celebrate their art in any art form or subject matter they choose that's what Freedom is all about! Creative independence is the key to truly embracing the freedoms our country has to offer. One veteran may choose to create something patriotic, while another paints a portrait of a friend and accepts all subject matters. One may create a sculpture based on military service and another spoken word on their every day life. This show is designed to celebrate and uplift those who served in the US military and keep our country strong!

Military Proof of Service-Photo of Veterans ID Card, Retired Military ID or Copy of DD Form 214

How to Submit:
Option 1. Complete Entry-thingy Form online here
Send up to 4 images of original works (JPEG or PNG, high resolution) with the following information:
● Title, medium, size, year completed
● Artist name and contact info
● Short artist statement (150 words max) including a brief note on how your work relates to the show’s theme
Note: Select works may be featured in promotional materials for the 2027 exhibition

Entry Instructions
1. "The Independence 250-Veterans Show" is open to all veterans of the US Military, 18 years or older.
2. Submitted works may be anything you as a creator artists choose. Submission statements must incorporate or reference the experience of Veteran Creators with one or more of the themes of Freedom, Independence and living creatively as an Artist and being a Veteran. Tell us why you enjoy your medium and subjects. Tell us what Freedom of Expression means to you as an artist or why you choose the themes you choose to express and/or if you have sacrificed any of these rights in serving our country. This is an opportunity to showcase and celebrate veteran artists and creators.
3. Submit online at Entrythingy.com/. If you do not have the ability to submit on a computer or media device or need assistance in submitting, please contact [email protected] and request other means of submission.
4. All work must be the property of the submitter and original in concept, design and execution.
5. If the submission is a group project the submission must identify the creators with proper credits and names of all parties involved in the project. The submitter must have permission to submit the work. Group projects will share awards. Example: Two creators; Prize $300 Each creator receives $150.
6. All 2D and 3D formats of fine art will be considered; including wall-hung, free-standing, suspended or pedestal mounted. Clothing and Jewelry can be manikin or wall mounted.
7. Label your Image Files with your last name, first name & title of the piece, for example: Mantis, Bearpaw-Giant. Image files must be JPG no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side; file resolution of 300 ppi/dpi; maximum file size 25 MB.
8. All Media and performance art will be considered with proper presentation of works. Must have short video accompanying submission. Written works-upload PDF. Musical works quality-MP3, Video-MP4.
9. Work created in a class, workshop, from a kit or purchased pattern is not eligible, unless work has been reviewed prior to submission and has received permission to submit.
10. Some museums or cultural pieces for “exhibit only” will be accepted with predetermined review and permission. Submit questions to [email protected] with “Questions-Independence 250” in Subject line.

1. If accepted Congratulations! An email will be sent to you with an “Independence 250: Letter of Acceptance and an Artist Accepted Contract. Please read, sign and return as soon as possible along with your military service documentation (Veterans ID, retired Military ID or copy of Form 214) because we are on a tight timeline. Thank you!
2. 2D and 3D Work must be for sale. The price of a piece may not be changed after acceptance into the exhibition.
3. No substitutions for accepted artwork will be allowed. All work must remain on display until the conclusion of the exhibit August 31, 2026
4. Submitted images may be used for marketing and promotional purposes directly related to this exhibition by Arts for Vets Gallery. Copyright and all other rights remain with that of the artist.
5. All accepted entries must be received, ready to install or with limited assembly. Any special installation equipment and/or instructions must be provided by the artist. Suspended work may not exceed 25 Lbs.
6. No "accepted works" or even shipped works will be accepted after July 15th, 2026 unless special permission has been received. All work must be delivered on the designated delivery dates/times.
7. Each "accepted work" must arrive with labeling (artist name/ title/media/size/price) attached to the piece or on the hanging device.
8. Arts for Vets Gallery reserves the right to reject work that is not represented accurately in the submitted images and description. Works that arrived damaged, poorly constructed, poorly presented or not up to the specified hanging standards will be returned to the artist at the artist’s expense. Please ensure your works are insured including shipping, handling, and transport.
9. Artists are responsible for providing their own insurance for the value of the artwork. This includes insuring shipping and handling.
10. Arts for Vets Gallery will handle sales transactions while work is on exhibit. Artists will receive 70% and share of 30% between Arts for Vets.
11. All sold items must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition and will not be released to the purchaser until the end of the show.
12. Payments to the artist for pieces sold will be made within 30 business days after the closing date of the exhibition. It is the Artist's responsibility to provide Arts for Vets with the correct mailing address for the check, if different from the application form.
13. Artists agree Arts for Vets and their agents, employees, representatives, and activity supervisors are free from liability of any kind for any and all damages arising out of loss or injury resulting from participation in any way connected to the “Independence 250” Exhibition.
14. Submission of an entry to this exhibition constitutes an agreement on the part of the entrant to the conditions set forth in this application. In addition, you grant Arts for Vets and their affiliates the right to photograph exhibited work or use the submitted images for publicity and educational purposes.
15. Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be announced at the opening reception on July 25th, Opening Day Celebration.
