The juror will be asked to select work (both two and three dimensional) that reflects and expresses the theme of Contemporary Landscape while demonstrating creativity, strength of execution, and overall artistic excellence with the goal of selecting a well-rounded exhibit that showcases a broad range of artistic style and interpretation.
All artists using visual media are eligible to enter the Horizon exhibition. All media will be considered with the exception of live or performance art. All work must have been completed since January of 2009 and not previously shown in any other Community Arts Center exhibitions.
ABOUT THE JUROR:
Boris Zakic received an MFA at University of New Orleans in 2000 and the “Neue Dimensionen der Wissenschaft” Award by G?ethe Institut, Belgrade for Translation Paintings in 2004. He has since worked on various projects dedicated to the study of impastoed paint almost exclusively. His paintings have recently appeared at Cincinnati Fringe Fest (2009-2010), The Independents at Liverpool Biennial (2010), the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft in Louisville (2013), and he was also one of the artist selected for the upcoming New Albany Bicentennial Public Art Project (2013). He is currently Professor of Art at Georgetown College, occasionally teaching for the Kentucky Institute for International Study (KIIS) programs in Athens and Rome. The Community Arts Center hosted an exhibition of his work in 2008.

Selected works will be on display at the Community Arts Center October 2 - November 15. An opening reception for exhibiting artists will be held on Thursday, October 10th, 6:00 - 8:00 PM. We hope you'll join us!
