Arizona Artists Guild Juried Statewide Spring 2013 FIne Art Exhibition

CALL FOR ART
ARIZONA ARTIST GUILD'S THIRD ANNUAL JURIED EXHIBITION OF FINE ART OPEN TO ALL ARIZONA ARTISTS

This is an opportunity to see your art on display at the Bezalel Art Gallery, located at 4200 Marshall Way in Scottsdale, AZ from April 5 through May 2, 2013. Gallery Hours are:Tuesday-Wednesday 10 AM to 6 PM; Thursday 10 AM to 9 PM; Friday-Sunday10 AM to 6 PM

JURORS
The Exhibition will be selected and juried by:
Cindy Dach, co-founder of Eye Lounge and Sixth Street Studios art galleries in Phoenix. Cindy is Executive Director of the Roosevelt Row Community Development Center, which is actively transforming that Phoenix neighborhood into a vital art community.
Clarke Riedy, figural sculptor creating bronze sculpture from small-scale studio pieces to monumental designs. Clarke was 2009 Curator of the Herberger Art Gallery.
Sebastiao Pereira, painter in acrylic and water color. His works are large, precise, intensely colorful, and often feature still life materials.

AWARDS
The following awards will be made:
Best of Show $500 cash
Award of Excellence $350 cash
Award of Merit $250 cash
Merchants Awards up to $100 in purchases

In Addition, images of the selected artwork will also be displayed on Arizona Artists Guild's website for one year. The images will be accompanied by the title, medium, dimensions, price and contact information for the artist.


REQUIREMENTS
1. The artist must be over the age of 18, and a current resident of the State of Arizona.

2. Submitted art work must be original works of art (no giclees will be accepted into this exhibition), created within the past 2 years. Artwork previously exhibited in an Arizona Artists Guild Juried Exhibition is not eligible for entry into this exhibition.

3. Submitted artwork must be in one of the following media: Acrylic, Drawing, Mixed Media, Oil, Pastel, Art Photography, Sculpture, Watercolor, Encaustic, Printmaking, Tempera/gouache.

Craft, turned wood art, functional pottery, functional metalwork, textile art, jewelry and gourds will not be accepted into this exhibition.

4. Entries must be original in concept and design; art created in a supervised setting, including workshops and art classes is not considered to be original.

5. Two-dimensional work to be wall-hung must not exceed 30 inches wide measured at the outside of the frame, and must be adequately wired and ready to hang (no saw tooth hangers). The hanging wire must be placed no more than one quarter of the way from the top of the frame. Artwork with frames considered below minimal gallery standards will not be displayed nor considered for award. Mats must be neutral in color, clean and professional in presentation. Gallery wraps are acceptable provided they are at least 1-1/2 inches deep and are painted on all four sides.

6. Three-dimensional work is not to exceed 50 lbs.

7. Each artist may submit up to three pieces of artwork.

8. All artwork must be submitted as digital images. Your images should be saved in baseline standard JPEG format. Do not save as a 'progressive' JPEG. Image resolution should be 200 to 300 DPI at a size of 8 by 10 inches. Submit only one image per piece of artwork.

9. All artwork must be priced and available for sale (no 'NSF') and the price should represent the artist's current pricing structure. A sales commission of 40% of the artist's asking price will be retained by the gallery with the balance paid directly to the artist; take this into account when you set your prices. The artist retains copyright to the artwork, however Bezalel Art Gallery and Arizona Artists Guild reserve the right to photograph and publish images of the artwork for the purposes of promotion for this exhibition and future exhibitions.

JURYING FEE
The schedule of jurying fees is as follows:
For Arizona Artist Guild Members; $30 for one piece, $35 for two pieces, or $40 for three pieces.
For non-AAG Members; $40 for one piece, $45 for two pieces, or $50 for three pieces.
The jurying fee is a contribution to Arizona Artists Guild, which is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation that encourages growth of artists and art education.

OPTIONAL DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED ARTWORK
It is expected that most artwork will be hand-delivered to Bezalel Art Gallery by the artists. If this is inconvenient, the artwork may be shipped to the Bezalel Art Gallery, 4200 N. Marshall Way, Scottsdale, Arizona 85251 to arrive on April 2 or 3, 2013. If shipping artwork, artist must enclose a check for $25.00 payable to the gallery to cover the expense of uncrating, storage of crate, re-crating and contacting your shipper for return. In a separate envelope include the appropriate return shipping label with your personal FedEx or UPS account information.

LIABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Art work will be insured through Bezalel Art Gallery for the value stated on the application while it is at the gallery. Neither Arizona Artists Guild nor Bezalel Art Gallery will be responsible for any loss or damage of any artwork no matter what the cause while it is in transit to or from the gallery. By submitting artwork to this exhibition, each artist is deemed to have concurred with this understanding.
